| Welcome To Our Tips Page
| | | Your artwork should hang at eye level when viewed standing, about 5’8” to 5’10” from the floor. Over a sofa your artwork should hang at 6” to 8” above the back of the sofa. The exception is, always relate your artwork to the furniture it is grouped with. The artwork should be about 6-9 inches above the back of the sofa, chair, or table. They should be close enough to each other to relate, but leave a little breathing room. Your artwork should be at least half as wide as, but not wider then the piece of furniture below it. Pay attention to "balance" in your entire room. Be careful not to put everything in one part of a room. Leaving the other walls bare will throw the balance of the entire room off. When hanging a group of pictures, find a unifying theme that makes your grouping of artwork consistent. You can add diversity to the arrangement by using use frames and mats that are different sizes and shapes, but compliment one another.

| - Tips on Caring For Artwork
| | | Light, temperature and humidity are factors to bear in mind when choosing where to hang your artwork. Careful monitoring of your artwork is advisable. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will fade the colors in your acrylic painting over a period of time. Close proximity to artificial lights, especially ultraviolet radiation from fluorescent lights can also be harmful to artwork. Diffused spotlights at some distance from the artwork are most effective. Artwork in an older house hanging on an outside wall can draw moisture into the back, so check regularly for signs of damp. Also avoid hanging artworks in a steamy area such as a bathroom or kitchen. Please be aware of this when choosing a location for your artwork. You might want to dust your painting regularly. Do not spray anything on the artwork, dust with a soft, dry cloth.
